Of Newton passed away peacefully Monday, October 05, 2020, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 70.
Rosemarie was born in Newton, on December 16, 1949; Daughter of the late Joseph Canino and the late Theresa Terlizzi. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert DeGouff, her loving daughter Robin DeGouff and by her sisters Marie Antoinette and Antoinette Maria Canino.
Rosemarie, known by many as Rose or Rosie, was raised in Newton and resided in Waltham where she raised her family. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she spent 10 years with her extended family. Rosemarie relocated back to Newton in 2011 to spend her remaining years close to her family.
She was a graduate of Newton High School and a former member of the V.F.W Women’s Auxiliary, 2152- Waltham. Rosemarie started her career as a C.N.A in the healthcare industry prior to staying home to raise her children. She later worked as a C.P.A., and was an extremely organized person who enjoyed helping her family with taxes and daunting paperwork. Rosie was very dependable and the "go to person," always willing to help any family member, especially if it had to do with keeping organized.
Over the years she enjoyed shopping, watching movies and an occasional Bingo game but she mostly enjoyed hanging out with family, especially during summertime.
Rosemarie is survived by her Daughters Tina (DeGouff) Kemp and her husband John of Jacksonville, Florida, Crystal (DeGouff) Dalton and her husband Howard of Newton, her brother Michael Canino and his wife Carol of Newton, her grandchildren Joseph DeGouff, Jamie Sharma, Kerri, Matthew and Renee Gillespie of Jacksonville, Florida, Robert, Andrew and Meghan Dalton of Newton, as well as 5 great grandchildren, and her lifelong friend Robin Caruso of Marlborough. In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family who loved her dearly.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of Rosemarie’s Life in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Funeral Home, 773 Moody St. Waltham on Friday, Oct. 9th from 4- 8pm.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the MSPCA.
