Lawrence Raymond Segreve, Jr.

Of Weston, formerly of Somerville, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 90.

Born and raised in Newton to the late Lawrence R. Segreve, Sr. and Bessie (Elliott), he was a graduate of Newton High School. Larry raised his own family in Somerville where he was resident until moving to Weston 12 years ago.

Mr. Segreve served his country honorably in the United States Marines as a Corporal during World War II. He was a longtime member of the Somerville V.F.W., James A. Logan Post 6800.

Larry owned and operated Larry's Paint / Teele Square Vacuum in Somerville for many years.

In his spare time he was an avid card player, a passionate sports fan, and an accomplished bowler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Mary "Peggy" (Sutherland) Segreve, and his devoted children Janet Pescosolido and her husband Philip of Newton, Steven Segreve and his wife Cheryl (King) of Watertown, Michael Segreve and his wife Nancy (Lynch) of Lexington, and Karen Duarte and her husband Richard of Waltham. He is also survived by 12 grandsons and 9 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend A Funeral Service in celebration of Larry's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 3 p.m. Interment will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
