Margie G. ( Geissinger ) Matteson 55,
Of Ashland died suddenly Thursday, March 2nd at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.
Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, Margie lived in MetroWest all of her life; she grew up in Hopkinton, and has been a resident of Ashland for the past 29 years.
Margie graduated from Hopkinton High School, attended Framingham State College, and later completed a certificate program at Northeastern University. She operated her own website-development business, Marisa Design, and was an active member of the Women's Designer Group.
In her spare time Margie enjoyed many types of crafting, including embroidering, paper quilling, and counted cross-stitch. She was a science fiction buff, and a Trekker of many years’ standing. Music was another of her passions; her tastes were eclectic (ABBA to Zappa, she liked to say), and she loved a good drum circle. At home, she played piano.
Margie had a natural devotion to animals, especially her dogs and her many cats.
She was the daughter of the late Karl Geissinger and Vera ( Melchior ) Geissinger.
She leaves her life-long love, Mark Matteson; her children, Anna Matteson and James Matteson; her sister, Karen Blazevich, and her husband Michael, of Montana; and her brother, Kurt Geissinger, and his wife Elaine, of Bellingham, Ma. In addition, she leaves many Nieces & Nephews, a loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, her devoted friends, and her dogs, Brody and Ziggy.
