Of Belmont, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening January 22nd, 2017 in Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge at the age of 90.
Born on May 5, 1926 in New Brunswick, Canada; daughter of the late Dominique and Hermance LeBlanc, Irene came to the United States as a young woman and resided in Waltham for several years before moving to Belmont over 65 years ago.
As a young mother Irene worked at Dom's Pizza Shop at the corner of Trapelo Road and Beech Streets in Belmont and later was employed with the Alpha Corporation of Woburn and Cambion Corporation in Cambridge.
Irene loved to travel especially on trips to Las Vegas, she enjoyed playing the slot machines and going to her Friday Night Bingo at Our Lady's in Waltham. She had a love for skiing and had been going with family and friends into her 70's. She was an avid reader and bowler. Irene also had a sweet tooth.
Beloved wife of the late Paul L. Morse.
She is survived by her devoted & loving children David Morse and his wife Alice of Cambridge, Susan Roy and her husband Georges of Windham, NH, Allan Morse and his wife Christine of West Roxbury, and Robert Morse and his wife Jay Jay of Belmont, her cherished grandchildren Gabriel and Domenic and her dear brother Leonard LeBlanc of Canada. In addition she is survived by many nieces & nephews.
Irene was predeceased by her siblings Beatrice, Ernest, Emma, Huberte, Geraldine, Raymond and Arthur.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Irene’s Life in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Thursday morning Jan. 26th at 11:00 Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery.
