Obituary for Philip R. Mastroianni

Philip R. Mastroianni
Of Auburndale, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon September 8th, 2016 surrounded by his loving family in his home at the age of 85 after a long battle with Parkinson Disease.

Born on September 16, 1930 in Calabria, Italy; son of the late Pilippo and Mariangela Mastroianni, Phil immigrated to the United States from Italy as a young man at the age of 18 and resided in Auburndale for the rest of his life.

Phil owned and operated “Mastroianni Landscaping” which he took over from his father-in-law in 1951. He was hardworking, dedicated, devoted and passionate about his work. Because of that hard work and dedication the family business has continued to the next generation.

He was a simple man who focused his life on his wife, family and work. He found great enjoyment in life tending to his garden. His second greatest passion were his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. The sight of his Grandchildren walking through his door would make him light up with his infamous smile.

Beloved husband for 50 years to the late Laura Mastroianni. She was his best friend and love of his life.

Phil is the devoted & loving father of Phillip V. Mastroianni and his wife Deborah (Albano) Mastroianni, Sandra Mastroianni Pescosolido and her husband Frank Pescosolido, and Vincent J. Mastroianni all of Auburndale. Dear brother of Rosina (Mastroianni) Butera and her husband Domenic, Antonio Mastroianni and his wife Natalina. Loving Nono to Philip Mastroianni and his wife Lindsey, Jenna Mastroianni and Nicholas Mastroianni, Sabrina (Pescosolido) Feldman and her husband Mark, Samantha (Pescosolido) Orlandino and her husband Joshua, Savanna Pescosolido and her boyfriend Paul D'Amore, Jamie Higgins, Lydia and Vincent Mastroianni.
