Of Waltham passed away, Thursday, February 5, 2015 after a lengthy illness, at the Sancta Maria Nursing Home in Cambridge. He was 90.
Mr. Walsh was born in Cambridge, July 10, 1924 to the late John and Julia (Penny) Walsh. Mr. Walsh was a lifelong resident of Waltham.
Melvin was employed by Raytheon and Barry Controls for many years as a draftsman.
Mr. Walsh will be remembered as a very religious person. He was a longtime member of The Church of the Nazarene in Waltham. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting Bibles.
He was the loving husband of the late Eleanor (Clyde) Walsh and the late Freda (Tysinger) Walsh.
Melvin is survived by his loving children Jeanne Mancuso and her husband Philip of Waltham, John Robert Walsh and his wife Nancy of Hamilton, Joseph Walsh of Waltham, and Jennifer Walsh of Waltham, and his cherished grandchildren Dylan, Dakota, and Katie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery.. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service, Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
