Adrienne J. (Zuppe) Mariani

Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 21st, 2023 with her loving family by her side in Newton – Wellesley Hospital at the age of 70.

Adrienne was born on February 16,1953 in Boston. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Jane (MacDonald) Zuppe.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1971; she furthered her education graduating from Fisher Junior College In 1973. She started her career as an Executive Secretary unfulfilled she went on to becoming a Nursery School Teacher to pursue her love of helping children. As time passed, Adrienne worked in various Dental Offices as an assistant side by side with the dentist, helping and comforting patients with their anxieties of being in the “chair.” After taking some time off to care for her mother she went back to work as a Teacher’s Aide at Day Middle School in Newton, which she loved and eventually retired after eleven years of service.

Family was the single most important aspect of Adrienne’s life. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, daughter-in -law, mother, a doting Grandmother “ Ghee ” mother -in -law, and dear friend. Adrienne’s greatest enjoyment came from being around family and friends, especially on the beach or sitting in her rocking chair while spending time on Martha’s Vineyard where she vacationed for over 20 years. Most recently, she enjoyed time at her home in West Yarmouth on Cape Cod. Always offering kind words of encouragement to all, she cherished reconnecting with old friends and spending time with the “GIRLS “on their great adventures full of laughter that was legendary and the stories were unbelievable!

Predeceased by her parents Fred and Jane Zuppe; Father-in -law the late Giulio Mariani and her mother-in-law Gisella Mariani.

Adrienne is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years with whom she shared 53 years of togetherness Gilberto “ Gil” Mariani; her devoted and loving son Michael Mariani, his wife Kaitlin; her cherished grandchildren Noelle and Julian; her dear brother- in-law Nicola Mariani and his late wife Mary Lou (Bonica). In addition, she is survived by four nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Adrienne and her family may do so at The Brasco and Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street WALTHAM on Thursday, May 25th from 4pm until 7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Family and Friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Adrienne’s life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at a Funeral Service in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 am with a visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery, located 203 Prospect Street in Waltham.
