Obituary for Irene L. Dunn-Rando

Irene L. Dunn-Rando (Watson), 88, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers, surrounded by her devoted children and their families.

Irene was born on February 6, 1935 in Queens, New York to the late May Gubala and Raymond Watson. She spent her early years in Scranton, Pennsylvania before moving to Jackson Heights, New York. Later, she settled in West Peabody, where she raised her family before eventually moving to Lexington.

Irene began her career as a cosmetologist for Germaine Montiel Cosmetics at Macy’s and later became the manager of that cosmetic line at the Northshore Mall. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping with her daughters, traveling, discussing politics, gardening with her husband and rooting for the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

Her family and friends were the most important things in her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, brought her immense joy and happiness.

Irene is survived by her loving son, John D. Dunn and his wife Joyce of Danvers, daughter, Elizabeth A. Gauthier and her husband Daniel of Salem. Stepchildren Judy A. Bousquet and her husband Ron of Waltham, Rita A. Dutson and her partner Jeff Hollifield of Arizona, Janice R. McDonough and her husband Terence of Dartmouth. Her grandchildren Katlyn Sterner and her husband Cameron of Ohio, Daniel Gauthier and his partner Alison Lewandowski of Boxford, Corey Gauthier of Marblehead, Brett Gauthier and his partner Kayla Dinis of Peabody, Stefanie Rogers and her husband Greg of Peabody, Jay Dunn of Bridgewater, Jessica Nestle and her husband Kenny of Beverly, Steven Dunn of Danvers. Great grandchildren Dylan and Aubrey Rogers, Carter and Avery Sterner, Ava and Jackson Gauthier, Ella and Benjamin Nestle.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Rando, her daughter Susan M. White, her sister Virginia Mulvihill, grandson Matthew D. White and her granddaughter Jennifer L. White.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday morning, May 8th from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located 773 Moody Street in Waltham followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Irene‘s life with a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted 920 Trapelo Rd., Waltham at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. Parking Attendants will be available.
