Marion J. Cormier, of Waltham passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA. at the age of 95.
Born on Thursday, June 9th 1927 in Waltham, MA. the youngest child of Frank and Alda (Farnan) Kezer.
Marion was baptized at Immanuel United Methodist Church as an infant, she was an active member until the church closed in 2015. She worked at the Waltham Watch Factory and later at the Party Nook Store and Expressions Cards and Gifts stores. Sharing her creativity and talent, hobbies included cake decorating, knitting, crocheting, and counted cross-stitching. She and Fran were avid candlepin bowlers and were members of the couples bowling league for several years. Traveling with family and friends creating lots of memories.
A lifelong resident of the South Side of Waltham, Marion was born and raised on Robbins Street until she married in 1951. Since then, she lived her entire life on Chester Avenue, where she loved rocking on the front porch.
She was the wife of the late Fran Cormier and predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Michele (Batchelder) Kelley, and her siblings Margaret Woolner; Nelle Tower; Arthur, Phyllis, Marshall, Gladys; James, Edwin Kezer and her son- in - law Lee Batchelder.
Marion is survived by her loving and devoted children Denise Batchelder and Gail Cormier of Waltham, Glenn Cormier and his wife Cheryl of Marlborough. Gram was blessed with four grandchildren Mark Batchelder and his partner Cassandra Dutille, Kellee (Cormier) Miller and her fiancé Jon Cruickshank, and Darren Cormier and his wife Kimberly; and four great grandchildren - Caleb and Tristan Kelley; Nate and Keira Miller. Marion is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Marion’s life will be held on Friday March 24th 2023 at 11 am at Beth Eden Baptist Church, located 84 Maple Street Waltham, MA. Burial will follow immediately after services at Mt. Feake Cemetery.
