Obituary for George F. Cullen

George F. Cullen

Of Belmont, passed away peacefully Monday March 6th, 2023 in the comfort of his home at the age of 88.

Born on November 6, 1934 in Somerville; son of the late Michael Cullen and Ann (Brown) Cullen. George was raised in the Brighton section of Boston before moving to Belmont over 50 years ago.

A graduate of Brighton High School, George served honorably and proudly in the United States Army in Korea.

After returning from the service, George was employed by Western Electric Company in Watertown as a Technician for 32 years. After an early retirement, George took a position in the Facilities Department at Bentley University in Waltham for 20 years.

George enjoyed all Boston sports, particularly baseball, and was an avid Red Sox fan. His greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

George was predeceased by his wife Anne C. "Ginger" (Cantwell) Cullen in 1999. He was the brother of the late Vincent Cullen and David Cullen.

He is survived by his devoted and loving children David G. Cullen and his partner Jeannie Johnson of Athol; John F. Cullen of Belmont; Cathie A. Milligan and her husband John of York, ME; Stephen P. Cullen and his wife Caroline of Framingham; Robert M. Cullen of Belmont; Kerry E. Reilly and her husband Steven of Shirley; and Paul C. "Hotis" Cullen of Belmont; and his dear sister Ann Moran of Worcester. In addition, he is survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Sunday March 12th from 1pm until 5pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Funeral services at Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, BELMONT on Monday March 13th at 11:00 am. Burial with United States Army Military Honors will follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.
