Obituary for Anita Louise DeMeo

Anita Louise DeMeo, Of Auburndale. Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2023 in Newton Wellesley Hospital after a long illness at the age of 86.

Born June 22, 1936 in Waltham to the late Michael A. and Catherine E. (Caramanica) DeMeo of West Newton.
Raised in West Newton, Louise graduated from Newton North High School. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Boston College, she went on to teach elementary school in Waltham and in Washington, DC. When her mother became ill with cancer, Louise came home to West Newton to provide assistance and home care. Later she and her sister Rose moved to Auburndale where they were long time residents. As time passed, Rose became ill with cancer, Louise provided assistance and home care for her as well.

Louise was very independent and strongly managed her own affairs. She had a strong Catholic faith and was a member of the Corpus Christi - Saint Bernard Guild for many years and participated in a number of Spiritual Prayer activities.

Louise is Predeceased by her beloved parents the late Michael A. and Catherine E. (Caramanica) DeMeo, and her loving sisters Rose A. DeMeo of Auburndale and Mary McGoldrick of Mililani, HI.

She is survived by her sister Elaine Beams of Dallas, TX and her brother Commander Michael J. DeMeo, USN (Ret.) of Alexandria, VA. She was the aunt of Malia and Hal McGoldrick and Brenna Cregge of Mililani, HI and Tina Beams of San Diego, CA and Michael Beams of Dallas, TX.

A Celebration of Louise’s life will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 12:00 noon in The Mary Catherine Chapel of The Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM. Followed by Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Complimentary Parking attendants will be on duty.
