Of Waltham, peacefully entered eternal life in the loving arms of her God on Wednesday evening, January 11, 2023 at the Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 86.

Sister Phyllis was born on October 30, 1936 in Cambridge, MA; beloved daughter of the late Placide Doucet and Elizabeth (Chiasson) Doucet. She was the stepdaughter of the late Antoinette (Leblanc) Doucet.

Sister Phyllis came from a family of two boys, the late Claude Joseph Doucet and the late Paul Doucet and four girls, the late Ethel (Sr. M. Clementia, smsm), the late Rita, and the late Dora Doucet Gagne.

Sister Phyllis entered the Marist Missionary Sisters in 1954 in Bedford, MA and took her first
Vows in 1957 and her final Vows in 1963 while in the Solomon Islands. Sister was missioned to
the South Solomon Islands in September of 1962 after graduating from Framingham State in June 1962.

Sister Phyllis spent 20 years working as an educator in the Solomons on various Islands before
returning to the United States in 1982, when she accompanied her blood sister, Sr. Mary Clementia, home to treat her for Cancer.

From 1982-1992, Sister worked in the Waltham, Belmont, Lexington communities of her Religious family. In 1992, Sister was asked to work in the Secretariat of her Order in Rome until she returned to the United States in mid- 1994. From 1994-2006, Sister Phyllis worked for Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Venice, Florida in Naples, FL.

Sister returned to Waltham, MA., in 2006 to serve on the Provincial Team as councilor and later as archivist until her death.

Sister Phyllis is survived by many 14 nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces & nephews; as well as her loving & devoted Community of Marist Missionary Sisters. They will all miss her dearly.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of the Resurrection in celebration of Sister Phyllis' Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, WALTHAM, on Tuesday morning January 17th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Marist Missionary Sisters Lot at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Watertown. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church from 9:00 am -10:30 am.
