Obituary for James Peter Foley

James P. Foley, a 53-year resident of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully Wednesday
January 11th in the comforting company of his family at Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center in Waltham, MA. He was 80 years old.

Born in Cambridge, MA on September 24, 1942, beloved son of the late James P. Foley and
Mary T. Foley (McNamara). Jim spent time growing up in Cambridge and Falmouth, ME. After
graduating high school in Maine, he returned to Cambridge and attended technical school for the
computer industry. During that time, he met the love of his life, Connie, and settled in Waltham
after marrying September 14, 1969, where they raised their family, and he worked as a Computer
Tape Librarian at many large area banks until he retired.

Jim was an active and devoted parishioner of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish where
he served as an usher for 30 years and enjoyed meeting and sharing time with the spiritual
community. He also was an avid Boston sports fan but particularly of the Red Sox and enjoyed
attending games as a season ticket holder for years. He also enjoyed time in his bowling
leagues, but most of all Jim especially enjoyed being a husband and father to his loving wife
and children.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Margaret McNamara (Nana Mac),
Margaret “Peggy” Dunn, Helen Pacheco, Julia “Pat” Hurley, Mildred “Millie” August, and Jean
Day, otherwise known as the “the Mac sisters”.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Constance T. Foley of Waltham, MA.
His loving children Roseann M. Duncan (Foley) and her husband Robert Duncan of Taunton,
MA; Mark J. Foley and his wife Klaudia Foley (Gorski) of Chelmsford, MA; and cherished
grandchildren Ashlee Foley, Joshua Duncan, Matthew Foley, Natalie Duncan, and Dillon Foley.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Jim and his family may do so during visiting hours at the
Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, MA 02453 on Tuesday
January 17th from 3 pm -7pm and Wednesday January 18th at 10am. Following that an 11am
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, 920 Trapelo
Road, Waltham. Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, 500 Canterbury
St. Boston, MA 02131.
