Obituary for Louis C. Gangi

Louis C. Gangi

Of Newton, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning December 30th, 2022 at Newton - Wellesley Hospital at the age of 84.

Born on October 8, 1938 in Boston; son of the late Charles L. Gangi and Ethel L. (Lasell) Gangi. Louis was raised by his aunts Mary and Phyllis Gangi, residing in Waltham the majority of his life, until 2016 when he moved to Newton.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1956; Louis worked as a Landscaper for most of his life with Fred Fucci Landscaping. After landscaping for years he worked in the deli at DeVincent Farms in Waltham and Shaws Supermarket in Belmont.

In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, dining out, collecting coins and spending time with family & friends in Yarmouth; but most especially he cherished the time spent with his grandsons.

An active and devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Waltham; and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine M. (Falzone) Gangi in 2006 and his dear sister Susie Butler in 2021.

He is survived by his loving & devoted children Lorie A. Gangi of Waltham; and Thomas C. Gangi and his wife Emily (Kerr) Gangi of Newton; his cherished grandsons Tyler & Eoin Gangi; and his dear siblings Geneva Clifford of NH and James Gangi of Waltham. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Louis and his family can do so at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Thursday, January 5th from 3pm until 7pm. Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Louis’ life and remember the love and friendship he shared with others at a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday afternoon January 6th at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
