Obituary for Antonia Cedrone (Mancini)

Of Newton, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon December 25th, 2022 with loving family by her side in the comfort of her home after a brief illness at the age 85.

Born on April 6, 1937 in Atina, Italy; daughter of the late Vincenzo Mancini and Emiglia (Viscogliosi) Mancini. Antonia was raised in Italy and immigrated with her husband Mario and settled in Newton to continue raising their family. 

Antonia’s life focused around her family, she always made sure everyone was fed with her generous cooking and constant baking by saying, “Mangia! Mangia!”. She always tended and cared for her garden to make sure it was to her liking, and the overall care and genuine love radiated constantly throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Mario Cedrone in 1999. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Francesca Maria Cedrone in 2019.

Antonia is survived by her devoted and loving children Franco Cedrone and his wife Angela (Caruso) Cedrone of Newton; Cesidia Baugniet and her husband Didier of Waltham; and Bruno Cedrone of Newton; her cherished grandchildren Angelo, Dylan, Alexia, Adriana; and her dear sister Concettina Di Cesare of Italy and the late Gemma Mancini. She also leaves her brother-in-law Antonio Cedrone and sister-in-law Rosa Cedrone; all of Newton, and Domenica Cence of France. In addition, she leaves many nieces; nephews both in the United States and Italy.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in Celebration of Antonia’s Life from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Dec. 30th at 10:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Thursday Dec. 29th from 4 - 8 P.M.
