Obituary for Roger W. Richardson

Roger W. Richardson

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening October 10th, 2022 at the age of 82.

Born on March 10, 1940 in Waltham; son of the late Walter Richardson and Thelma (Horne) Richardson. Roger was raised, educated and had been a lifelong resident of Waltham.

Roger attended Waltham Vocational High School; and had co-owned and operated with his father and brother the W. W. Richardson Salvage Company on Calvary Street in Waltham throughout his life. In his early years, Roger worked for Brae Burn Country Club in Newton during which time he met his future wife.

After graduation, Roger enlisted with the United States Navy.

He was an outdoor enthusiast, loved to go camping, hunting and taking long rides. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and his friends; but most especially over watching and playing with his granddaughter, Ryleigh, with whom he was grateful to have spent so much time creating countless memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Elfriede (Mutschler) Richardson; his devoted & loving children, Lynne M. Cusson and her husband Robert of Gorham, NH; Roger W. Richardson of Waltham; and Justin L. Richardson and his wife Meaghan of Foxborough; his cherished grandchildren Jessica, Joshua, Jasmine, Jason and Ryleigh; and his brother Walter Richardson and his wife Janice of Marlborough. In addition, he is survived by many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Dear brother of the late Martha Holmes, Eva Wallace, Gladys Murphy, William Richardson, Olive Richardson, and twin, Judy Bamforth.
