Obituary for Jean Marie Meade (Dumas)

Jean Marie Meade (Dumas), 87, of Waltham, Massachusetts and West Palm Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 05, 2022, with family by her side.

Born on April 29, 1935, in Billerica, Massachusetts, to the late Joseph S. and Florence V. Dumas.

Jean lived a productive and fulfilling life. She enjoyed a 30-year career as the office manager for Dr's George B. Citron and Donald W. Putnoi, Ophthalmologists in Waltham.

Singing with the Waltham Lamplighter’s Woman’s Choral Group for many years, Jean performed in many concerts, with her favorite being the Grover Cronin’s Christmas Pageants.

She loved to travel and spent vacation time in Europe, Caribbean, Hawaii and across the United States with friends and family.

One of her favorite pastimes was gardening, freezing, and canning so she and her family could enjoy fresh ingredients throughout the coming year. She was a fantastic cook and created many well-loved, still often prepared family recipes.

Jean and her late husband Warren shared married life for over 60 years before Warren passed away in June of 2019. We will miss her radiant smile, fantastic food, and beautiful singing voice.

She is survived by her two daughter’s Marsha J. Meade of Newburyport, MA, and West Palm Beach, Florida, Carole A. Meade of West Palm Beach, Florida, her Sister Grace Malloy (Dumas) of Natick, MA, and her Brother Joseph Dumas and his wife Martie of Yarmouthport, MA. In addition, many other relatives and friends.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to a Celebration of Life for Jean Saturday, October 22, 2022, in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons located, 773 Moody Street Waltham, MA. Visiting hours begin at 10:30 a.m. with a short Memorial Service beginning at 12:00 (noon) p.m. Parking Attendants will be on duty. A private burial will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are welcomed.
