Obituary for Michael P. "Mike" Franchi

Michael P. Franchi, 55, of Natick, MA, passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2022.

Michael (Mike) was born on October 22,1966 to Madeline (Corsi) and Pasquale Franchi of Weston, MA. The youngest of six children, Mike was doted on by his older siblings and the many cousins in his extended family.

After graduating from The Rivers School, Mike attended Boston College and played for the men's varsity tennis team, serving as captain his senior year. In his four years on the team, BC placed first in the Big East Tournament and fourth in New England. After college, Mike was world ranked and traveled extensively through Africa, Europe, and Asia playing professional tennis. While tennis was his passion, Mike also enjoyed playing golf and skiing with family and friends. He was a skilled cook who loved a quiet evening at home, trying a new recipe or preparing a favorite dish. He was an avid New England sports fan, cheering on his beloved Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston College Eagles whenever he could.

While he departed from this world too soon, those who knew him will remember his broad smile, competitive spirit, quick wit, and kind heart.

Mike is survived by his sister Linda Kacewicz of Warwick, RI and brother Louis Franchi of Newton, MA, as well as nine nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and sisters Suzanne Franchi, Debra Lynch, and Patricia Flaherty.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Michael's life and remember the love and friendship he shared with others at a Funeral Mass in Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, WESTON on Tuesday morning July 19th at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Weston.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Mike and his family can do so in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM prior to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday July 19th from 9am until 11am.
