Obituary for Richard F. Eccles Jr.

Richard Francis Eccles, Jr., 53, Of Acton, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2022 in the comfort of his home after a period of declining health.

Born to the late Richard F. Eccles, Sr. and Gail A. (Williams) Eccles on Sunday, January 19, 1969 in Newton, MA.

He took great pride and loved his work as a Correction Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for twenty-two years.

Richard was kind and hardworking but was also known for his stubborn and strong -willed side.
He enjoyed collecting knives, riding his bike and getting a good workout at the gym. He loved riding his motorcycle and attending Bike Week in Laconia, NH. Spending time with family and friends was one of Richard’s favorite pass times.

Survived by his loving sister Michelle Berrio (Eccles) and her husband William Berrio and their children Cassandra, Billy, Jr. and Kristine of Holbrook, MA., his dear sister Susan Channell (Eccles) and her husband Shawn Channell and their children Trevor and Madison Channell of Lynnfield, MA. and Joey and his wife Kayleigh Channell of Georgia. His devoted brother Michael Eccles and his wife Kim Eccles (Stearns) and their children, Colin and Callie of Billerica, MA. In addition, two great nieces Audyn Channell, Violet Channell, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and remember the love and friendship Richard shared during visiting hours on Thursday, July 14th from 4pm - 8pm at Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, located 325 Trapelo Road BELMONT, MA. Funeral Services will be held the following day on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Watertown.
