Julia A. (Kelley) Dowcett

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully on Friday evening May 13, 2022 with her loving family by her side in her son's home in Maynard at the age of 89.

Born on January 17, 1933 in Waltham; beloved daughter of the late John B. Kelley and Mary V. (Carroll) Kelley. Julia was raised, educated and lived the majority of her life in Waltham.

Julia attended Saint Mary's High School and had been employed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Welfare Office in Waltham for many years.

She had a strong faith and was a devout parishioner of Saint Jude Church and Saint Mary's Church in Waltham. In her spare time she enjoyed home bible study, shopping and socializing.

She is survived by her devoted & loving sons; Brian C. Dowcett of Milton, NH; and Charles C. Dowcett Jr. of Maynard; and her cherished grandchildren Bryanna, Jamie, Andrea, Jeff, Nicholas, Sarah, Patrick, Holly, Jacqueline, Lilly, Daniel and Elena. In addition she is survived by several great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her cherished children John B. Dowcett, Julie M. Dowcett and Christine Donovan-Dowcett; dear siblings Henry "Hank", John "Jack", George, Mary and Peggy; and her former husband the late Charles C. Dowcett.

Family & friends are welcome to gather at the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday May 21st at 9:00 followed by a Funeral Mass to celebrate Julia's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at Saint Mary's Church, 145 School Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Julia and her family can do so in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday May 20th from 3pm until 7pm. We ask that friends please be mindful and respectful of social gatherings.
