Carmela (Raso) Caruso
Our Beloved Carmela (Raso) Caruso passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving daughter in law Elizabeth Baulo Caruso and loving grandchildren Saverio Caruso, Jessica Caruso and Gabriel Caruso, on Thursday April 28th 2022 @ 11:15 pm at the young age of 86.
Carmela was born on July 12th 1935 in Santa Maria, Lamezia Terme, Italy. Carmela was the daughter of Maria Caruso and Nicola Raso. Sister of Santa Raso and her husband the late Francesco Vescio of Crozzano, Lamezia Terme Italy; and the Late Guiseppe Raso and his late wife Elena Pace of Villa Dominico Avellaneda, Argentina; the Late Raquela Raso Panedigrano and survived husband Domenico Panedigrano of Villa Dominico Avellaneda, Argentina.
Loving wife of the late Saverio Caurso and loving mother of the late Antonio (Tony) Caruso. Carmela met the love of her life in Villa Dominico Avellaneda, they started their beautiful life together in 1958, and went on to have their son Antonio (Tony) Caruso in 1959. They immigrated to Boston in 1975, and had been a resident of West Newton for many years.
Carmela worked at Aero manufacturing for many many years when the company closed she went on to work at a nursing home as a cook. She was a strong woman who loved to garden. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart.
Carmela is survived by her loving family: Sister Santa Raso Vescio, devoted daughter in law Elizabeth Baulo Caruso, Grandchildren Carmela Jessica Caruso her Fiance Jose Giovanni, Saverio Caruso and his companion Alysha Elfson, Gabriel Caruso and great grandchildren Sebastian, Kaitlyn, William and Allen. As well as extended family and an abundance of friends. We will miss her more than words can say.
Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Carmela's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, WALTHAM on Thursday morning May 5th at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum in Waltham.
Those who wish to pay their respects to Carmela and her family can do so in Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday morning prior to the funeral mass from 9am until 10:30am. We ask that friends be mindful and respectful of social gatherings.
