Obituary for Elizabeth G. Bombaci (Bombaci)

Elizabeth G. Bombaci

Elizabeth G. Bombaci, of Medford, passed away on April 12, 2022. She was 83 years old. Beloved daughter of the late Dr. Augustine Bombaci and Lillian E. (Cataldo) Bombaci, Elizabeth was survived by many close cousins, as well as dear lifelong friends.

Elizabeth was a resident of Medford for her entire life. She was a proud graduate of Medford High School and Tufts University (Class of 1960). Elizabeth loved the Medford community so much that she proudly displayed a large “Medford, Massachusetts” sign in her living room for all to see.

Elizabeth taught for many years at North Andover High School (foreign language). During school breaks and throughout her lengthy retirement, Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, both on her own and in groups, and delighted in the performances of the Boston Symphony Orchestra she attended as a devoted subscriber. She spent much of each summer at her house in South Harwich, welcoming guests from near and far to walk the nearby beach and soak in the joys of the Cape.

Elizabeth enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures: she loved nothing more than spending time at home with her precious cats (Alice, Woody and Shasta); she was a skilled gardener; she filled her home with classical music and piano playing; she collected antiques and artwork; and she supported causes that benefited children, animals, the environment and wildlife conservation, local historic landmarks, and public television and radio. Whether she was relaxing at home, enjoying a night out at Symphony, or traveling, Elizabeth was always the best dressed in any group and had the quickest wit. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends, family members and the countless lives she touched throughout her teaching career.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 22, 2022, at Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels in Waltham. Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Parking Attendants will be on duty.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Rescue League, of Boston, Massachusetts.
