Charles J. "Charlie" Innis

Of Framingham formerly of Vero Beach, Florida, Mashpee, MA and Waltham, MA passed away peacefully Wednesday March 16th, 2022 in his sons home at the age of 80.

Born on December 28, 1941 in Cambridge; beloved son of Charles Joseph Innis and Helen Lousie (McCarthy) Innis. Charlie was raised in Cambridge and had lived in Waltham for most of his life before moving to Mashpee and eventually Vero Beach, Florida after retirement.

A graduate of Matignon High School; Charlie enlisted in the United States Army, where he served proudly and honorably.

After his discharge from the Army, Charlie began his career with the United States Postal service as a Letter Carrier and worked for close to 50 years for the USPS.

In his retirement Charlie worked at the Falcon Golf Course at Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod. He loved to golf, go fishing, walking and playing bocce. He also enjoyed reading in his spare time. For many years while he was living in Waltham, Charlie was a baseball coach and umpire for the Waltham Babe Ruth league.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean M. (Bierenbroodspot) Innis in 2013.

Charlie is survived by his devoted and loving sons Charles Innis of Florida; Michael Innis of Pittsfield; and Stephen Innis and his wife Cheryl of Framingham. In addition he is survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

He was the loving father of the late Daniel Innis, Kevin Innis and Sean Innis; and dear brother of the late James Innis and Maureen Innis.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Charlie's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Sunday March 20th at 4:30 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the service from 2pm until 4:30 p.m. His burial with United States Army Military Honors will be held private for his family at the Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne.
