Roger J. Richard

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, February 13th, 2022 in the comfort and care of the staff at Care Dimensions Hospice Home in Lincoln at the age of 85.

Born on January 1, 1937 in Grand-Digue, New Brunswick, Canada; son of the late Herve Richard and Alice (Gallant) Richard. He was raised in New Brunswick and moved to the United States and settled in Waltham in the 1960's. Roger had been employed as a Carpenter with the Carpenters Local Union #275, throughout his life.

He had a passion for the outdoors and all things nature; he loved hunting but most especially, fishing. He had many hobbies; “fixing things”, woodworking and carpentry were just a few. Roger loved to play cards especially cribbage.

His family and his friends were always first and foremost. Roger was a longtime member of the French-American Victory Club in Waltham.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Simone (Cormier) Richard; his devoted & loving children; Roland Richard and his wife Michele of Metairie, LA; Noella Ricci and her husband Jeffrey of Waltham; and Guy Richard and his wife Nicole of Pittsfield, ME; his cherished grandchildren Rianne, Shannen, Eva, Stephen, Emery, Alexis; and his dear siblings Yvon Richard of Lynn; Fr. Raymond Richard of New Brunswick; Albert Richard of Wakefield; Francois Richard of New Brunswick; Annette Caissie of New Brunswick; and Edna Dufour of New Brunswick. In addition, he is survived by countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and dear siblings Arias Richard, Louise Wood, Therese Caissie, Annette Richard and Marguerite Richard.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Roger's life and remember the love and friendship he shared with others at a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning February 18th at 10:30 am.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Roger and his family can do so in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday February 17th from 4pm until 7:00pm. We ask that friends be mindful and respectful of social gatherings and wear a mask.
