Obituary for Judith Katamba Najjuma (Ssebowa)

Judith Katamba Najjuma, 53, formerly of Lowell, MA. passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at Lowell General Hospital on Friday, January 14, 2022.

Born to the Late Linus Katamba Ssebowa and Christine Juuko Kagere in Kampala, Uganda on September 26, 1968.

As a young child, Judith loved animals and nature. Inquisitive and extremely intelligent she was always willing to help anyone in need. It was no surprise to her elders and other family members that her adventurous Spirit would later lead her to the United States of America where she would go on to build a life for herself that would make her family proud. Judith received her Undergraduate degree from Mass Bay Community College and her Master’s Degree from Southern New Hampshire University and loved her work as a Case Manager at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for many years.

Judith adored her K-9 baby Titi, traveling, quiet time at the beach, watching the New England Patriot’s Play, and spending time with her family and friends brought her great joy. Her unwavering faith in God, resilience, and loving spirit helped her to weather many of life’s storms. May her soul rest in Peace.

She is survived by 5 siblings, Agnes, Dorothy, Jennifer, and Ivan all residents of Uganda, her brother Samuel Semakula and his wife Ruth of Norwood, MA. In addition, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather and remember the love Judith shared during a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 27th from 7-9 pm at St. Mary’s Parish Waltham located 145 School Street Waltham, MA. Interment will be held the following day at 12 pm at Mt. Feake Cemetery. For the safety of those we love and care deeply for during this Global Pandemic, it is mandated throughout the Archdiocese of Boston all persons attending public Masses and Funerals must wear masks at all times except when they are speaking. Children under the age of five are not required to wear masks.

As an expression of Sympathy flowers are welcome.
