Janice C. Uguccioni
1946 - 2021
Passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Benchmark Senior Living in Waltham, MA, at the age of 75.
Janice was born in Palmer, MA, on March 16, 1946 to the late Enrico "Harry" and Evelyn (Modrunic) Uguccioni. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1963. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Simmons College in Boston in 1967. She earned her Master's Degree in Library Science from Simmons College in 1969. She continued her education and earned her law degree from Suffolk Law School in 1973 and served as the Assistant Clerk Magistrate for Norfolk County, Superior Court in Dedham, MA until she retired in 2015. Before retiring she became a trained mediator.
Janice was preceded in death by her brother David Uguccioni. She is survived by her brother James and his wife Helen of Montague; her brother Bob and his wife Shelley of Colrain; her nephews, Matthew Machesney and Dom Uguccioni; and her niece Gina (Uguccioni) Cain. She is survived by her uncle and aunt, Bruno and Barbara (Modrunic) Graziano of Marshall, VA, and her many cousins. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Janice had a passion spending time outdoors walking and immersing herself with nature. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Over the years she traveled to Italy and France with her friends. She was a loving and kind woman. She loved swimming and she played ice hockey for many years. Janice enjoyed practicing yoga and meditation and would often go on retreats at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA. Her favorite treat was the ultra-dark chocolate bars from Trader Joes.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Benchmark Senior Living in Waltham, MA for their kindness, compassion, and care, as well as the Caring Hospice Staff that made her life more comfortable in her last few days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:30am to 1pm at Not Your Average Joe's Restaurant, 56 Market Place Drive, Waltham, MA.
