Obituary for Ethan Abbott Freniere

Ethan Abbott Freniere, of Newton Massachusetts passed away at the age of 67, on June 10th, 2021. Ethan was born in Altoona Pennsylvania on August 24th 1953, to Emil and Hope Freniere, and was the younger brother of Stephen Freniere.

He married the love of his life, Eva Marie Freniere(Iannuzzi) on October 10th, 1981. He worked as a Certified Arborist with Lupien and Sons before becoming a personal care attendant at the Fernald State School.

Ethan was a caring soul who would go out of his way to help anyone in need, and would try to make friends with anyone he met. He loved being outdoors, and even befriended the rabbits of his house in Newton. He embodied the hippy spirit of his youth, right up to when he passed away, valuing personal freedom and choice, as well as a love and respect for nature and his fellow man. He lived a quiet life, when he was not revving his chainsaw cutting down trees for firewood. He enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood, especially with his four legged grandchild, Sheldon. Playing Cribbage, splitting wood, maintaining a giant manicured peace sign in his backyard, and tending to his fireplace were his favorite pastimes. He loved making acronyms (NS2 and PCP3, for those in the know) as well as E2=A3, for Ethan and Eva equals Anthony, Adam, and Angela.

He is survived by his children, Anthony Freniere, and his wife Hilary Binks and grandson Vincent Freniere of Newton, Massachusetts; Adam Freniere, and his wife Tammie Harris and granddaughter Autumn Freniere of Otego, New York; Angela Freniere and boyfriend Matthew Neier of Bradenton, Florida; his brother Stephen Freniere and wife Janice Freniere of Gainesville, Georgia; Mother-in-Law Angela Scott of Newton, Massachusetts, Brother and Sister-In-Law Ralph and Ann Iannuzzi of Weston, Massachusetts, Sister-in-Law Dorothea Iannuzzi of Lexington, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Eva Marie Freniere, and his parents Emil and Hope Freniere.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, June 14th, 2021 10:00am-12:00pm in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located at 773 Moody St, Waltham, MA. Private burial to follow.
