Joseph Bonazzi

Of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully Monday evening May 17th, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his beloved wife and family by his side after a courageous battle with his illness at the age of 86.

Born in Winchester, MA.; son of the late John & Mary Bonazzi . Joe was raised in Everett, MA. and spent most of his life in Waltham, MA. before moving to Naples, Florida in 1998.

A graduate of Everett High School with the Class of 1953.

Joe was an Entrepreneur, and owned several companies in the Food Service industry; while retired in Florida, he worked as a School Bus Driver working for Collier County.

He was a longtime member and Governor of the Moose Lodge.

Joe had a passion for all sports, and enjoyed golf as a hobby.

In his retirement Joe was on a golf league. He loved to spend time with family, friends and travel, especially the ‘Defazio’ Family cruises.

Joe's life revolved around helping others; he truly put others first. He devoted his life to his family; he was kind, helpful, he was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend to so many.

He was predeceased by his loving daughter Joanne "JoJo" Bonazzi in 2015, and his loving son, John J. Bonazzi in 2001.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Marie (Marino) Bonazzi; his devoted & loving children Tony Bonazzi, and his wife Jody of Strasburg, Pennsylvania; and Denise (Bonazzi) Dodge, and her husband Craig of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts; Cherished grandfather of Ashley Dodge, Amanda Dodge and Alaina Dodge; dear brother of Jeanne (Bonazzi) Coutu. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends.

For the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time; and for those who wish to pay their respects to Joe and his family in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, MA., on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 8:30 am-10:30 am. We ask that friends please be mindful and respectful of the current limitations on social gatherings. Following the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Boston, family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Joe's life and remember the love he shared with those he touched at a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham on Saturday, May 22, 2021at 11:00 am. His burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
