Obituary for Linda Jane O'Dette (Barker)

Linda Jane O’Dette, Of Watertown. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 75, on February 17, 2023 at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born June 5, 1947 in Waltham to the late Melvin and Marion Barker (Bailey).

Raised in Burlington and graduating from Burlington High School. Linda ultimately settled in the family home in Watertown MA. where she became a licensed real estate broker, working for Century 21 Zampitella Real Estate and Gelineau Associates.

Linda was a very strong willed and independent woman whose love for family was awe inspiring. She was raised protestant and instilled those beliefs in both her daughters. Family and tradition were always Linda’s first priority. She Loved to travel whether it was with the entire family at Hill’s Beach in Biddeford Maine, vacationing in Ireland, or weekends away with the girls. She also loved to read, especially the entire Danielle Steele collection. After retirement what brought her most joy, was spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren sport activities and events.

Linda is predeceased by her beloved parents Melvin and Marion Barker (Bailey), her loving brother Stanley Barker.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 49 years David A. O’Dette of Waltham, her two loving and devoted daughters Kelly L. LeBlanc of Gardner her spouse Joel R. LeBlanc; Kathleen E. Hannon of Hudson and her spouse Daniel L. Hannon. Linda also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren Matthew, Daniel, Brandon and Kaylee LeBlanc; Patrick and Brianna Hannon. Linda is also survived by her sister Virginia L. Sutherland and her spouse William Sutherland, and her sister- in- law Patricia Barker. In addition, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews all who will miss her dearly.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather and remember the love Linda shared during Visiting Hours on Friday February 24th, 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm. In the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located 773 Moody Street Waltham. Complimentary Parking Attendants will be available. Funeral Services will be held the Following day on Saturday February 25th 2023 at 11 am. Interment will take place immediately after at Mt. Feake Cemetery, located 203 Prospect Street Waltham, MA.
