Obituary for Carol Ann "Mimi" Quintiliani (Cocco)

Carol Ann (Cocco) Quintiliani

Of Norwood, passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 10th, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham at the age of 81.

Born on November 13, 1939 in Waltham; daughter of the late Dominic Cocco and Lucy M. (Sullo) Cocco. Carol was raised and educated in Waltham; she resided in Watertown for a brief period of time before moving to Newton for 34 years. In 1999, she moved to Norwood and has been a resident ever since. For years the family spent summers at their house on Cape Cod in Centerville at Craigville Beach.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1956; Carol furthered her education at Burdett College in Boston. She had been employed as a Paralegal early in her career; then assisted her husband in the family business "C&D Contracting". After years in the family business she became employed as a Teacher's aide in the Newton Public School System and was instrumental in the development of the bi-lingual educational program. In 1998, she retired after 25 years of dedicated service to the city and children of Newton. Throughout these years she had various bookkeeping responsibilities and was especially proud of her work with the progressive all women’s team at “760 Associates”.

After retirement, Carol was active as a poll worker for the Town of Norwood and devoted her time to others helping at the Norwood Senior Center. She volunteered her time and energy, and participated in everything and anything she could with regard to the Senior Center. She was a social butterfly around others. Carol enjoyed Yoga, line dancing, tap dancing, reading, and playing games, especially "Mahjong". She loved bowling and had been involved in numerous leagues. Throughout the years she spent time traveling with family and friends and loved her occasional trips to the casino and playing the slot machines.

Family was always the most important aspect of her life. She treasured the moments spent with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Domenic Quintiliani in 2013.
