Of Waltham, passed away Tuesday March 30th, 2021 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston after a brief but courageous battle with Covid-19 at the age of 54.
Born on May 13, 1966 in Somerville; beloved son of Paul J. Manganelli and Shirley (Butt) Manganelli. Paul was a lifelong resident of Waltham.
A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1984, Paul furthered his education at Curry College graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications; and graduated from Western New England University with a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice.
Paul was appointed to the Waltham Police Department as a Patrolman in 1993 and served the City of Waltham for 20 years. From the age of 17, Paul and his close friend owned and operated a DJ business "P&M Sound". In his younger years he had worked as a Landscaper and at Bates Pharmacy in Waltham.
Paul had a love for music and recently enjoyed personal fitness and working out. He was always willing to help others, had an outgoing personality, and loved talking to people.
Paul is survived by his devoted & loving children Waltham Police Officer Ryan Manganelli and Devin Manganelli both of Waltham; his beloved parents Paul and Shirley Manganelli of Waltham; his dear brothers Mark Manganelli of Medford; Carl Manganelli and his wife Karen of Waltham; Jimmy Manganelli and his wife Sara of Uxbridge and Dennis Butt and his wife Tracie of Millis; his brother-in-law Zach Holzman of Uxbridge; and Paul's significant other Yune Tran. In addition Paul is survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends, who will miss him dearly.

For the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time, and for those who wish to pay their respects to Paul and his family can do so in accordance with CDC, Federal, State and Local guidelines in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, MA., on Monday afternoon April 5th from 4 - 7 p.m. We ask that friends please be mindful and respectful of current limitations in regard to social gatherings. Following the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Boston, family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Paul's life at a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham on Tuesday, April 6th at 10:00 am. His burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
