Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Conrad (Vezeau)

Elizabeth (Vezeau) Conrad

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Saturday January 30th, 2021 at Newton - Wellesley Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 82.

Born on May 9, 1938 in Waltham; daughter of the late Louis Vezeau and Catherine (Duffy) Vezeau; Betty was born, raised and educated in Waltham before moving to Auburndale for number of years while raising her family; and eventually moved back to Waltham for the past 6 years.

A graduate of Saint Charles Borromeo High School; Betty had been employed as a Dance Instructor at the Peggy McGlone Dance Studio in Waltham for most of her life. Betty loved giving back to her community and worked for a period of time with the City of Newton Parks & Recreation Department and the Newton Senior Center teaching dance classes.

Her life revolved around her family, she enjoyed every minute spent with her children and grandchildren. Betty loved to go shopping with her daughters down in Mashpee Commons. Nothing brought more joy than when Betty was able to attend events at her grandchildren’s school. Betty also enjoyed spending time with her friends; often going to see theatrical productions at the local community theater. Above all, Betty loved spending her weekends on the Cape with her husband Gordon. They could both be found cruising around the pond on their boat.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years Gordon A. Conrad; her devoted and loving children David A. Conrad and his husband Thomas Such of Franklin; Paul D. Conrad and his wife Susan of Waltham; Catherine "Cathy" M. Ackil and her husband Joseph of Southborough; Donna J. Morin and her husband Paul of Waltham; and Doreen E. Regan and her husband John of Sanford, ME; her cherished grandchildren Joey, Bryan, Tommy, PJ, Matthew, Abigail, Michael, Johnny, Colin and Meghan; her siblings James P. Vezeau of NH; John Vezeau of Hudson; and Dorothy Shutt of Waltham; and her lifelong best friend Patty Hassell. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
