Walter D. Barrick

Of West Townsend, passed away peacefully Saturday morning January 9th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family in his home at the age of 76.

Born on August 24, 1944 in Niagara Falls, New York; son of the late Walter W. Barrick and Nellie (Hoffman) Barrick. Wally came to Waltham at the age of 13 and spent 44 years here until moving to West Townsend in 2001.

A graduate of Waltham High School Class of 1962; Wally had been employed with the Jack Lee Real Estate and Gerald M. Curtin Real Estate for many years before partnering with his son at RMP Capital where he served as Vice-President of Marketing until his retirement.

His life revolved around his family, he enjoyed every minute spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In his spare time he had a passion for sports following all of the Boston sports teams; he was a 20 year season ticket holder of New England Patriots; he also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtic's and Boston Bruins. He enjoyed golf, bird watching and history.

Wally loved to keep in touch with others; many of his friends and family received email jokes or personal notes just to let them know he was thinking of them.

Walter is survived by the love of his life and beloved wife of 54 years Mary Ann (Pergola) Barrick; his loving & devoted children Donald W. Barrick and his spouse Nancy of Lloyd Harbor, NY; Nicole D. Chiasson and her spouse Michael of Wayland; and Carl Barrick and his spouse Rima of Falls Church, VA; his cherished grandchildren Amir, Emily, Christopher, Brandon, Matthew, Addison, and Aliya; and his dear brothers Howard Barrick and his spouse Marian of PA; the late Lionel Barrick and his wife Esther of Ransomville, NY; and the late Ronald Barrick and his wife Marjorie of Hubbardston, MA. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family who loved him dearly.

For the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time, and for those who wish to pay their respects to Walter and his family can do so in accordance with CDC, Federal, State and Local guidelines in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, MA., on Wednesday Jan. 13th from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Following the Archdiocese of Boston guidelines, family & friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Walter's life and remember the love he shared with those he touched at a Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Church, 145 School Street, Waltham. Committal Services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Brigham & Women's Hospital Vascular Ctr., Development Office, 116 Huntington Avenue, 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02116
