Mary Ann Scalisi

Of Waltham, entered eternal rest & peace Sunday December 27th, 2020 at Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham after a long illness at the age of 58.

Born on July 19, 1962 in Waltham; beloved daughter of Mary F. (Dudley) Scalisi and the late Vincent D. Scalisi. Missy was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1980; Missy furthered her education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst graduating with a degree in Horticulture.

Missy had been employed as a Horticulturist with Mount Auburn Cemetery In Cambridge; Drumlin Farms in Lincoln; and with PETCO of Waltham. She had a passion for caring and nurturing animals. Her love of the wildlife allowed her the opportunity to be a licensed Falconer; professionally trained to handle raptors such as a falcon, hawk or owl. She had a love of the outdoors and gardening.

Missy is survived by her beloved mother Mary; cherished daughter Pauline Arsenault of Waltham and her devoted and loving brothers Vincent A. Scalisi and Timothy Scalisi both of Waltham. In addition she is survived by a niece, several nephews, close friends, and extended family who loved her dearly.

For the safety of those we love and care so much for, a Celebration of Mary's Life will be held for family & friends when social distancing guidelines allow.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Mass Audubon's Drumlin Farm, 208 S Great Rd, Lincoln, MA 01773

Missy was quiet, reserved and kind. A deeper soul than anyone, she thought deeply, cared deeply and was more perceptive than most of us. Conversations were meaningful and had depth, actions had meaning. There was an undertone of mystic because she saw and felt things that others could never comprehend. Missy was a gift, and I feel privileged to have been granted the grace to have felt her love. I honestly can't believe you're gone. I was supposed to give you the rosary beads from the Vatican like we discussed. Thank you for the insight and love that you gave. I love you and you will forever be missed. Love, Jill

I remember Mary from elementary school through high school. She was a very sweet girl. She had a smile that would light up the room. While Mary was shy, she was always friendly and warm. She will be missed. God bless her mom Mary and her dear brothers. Kerri Egan
