John Arthur Long
66 years old of Waltham passed away Sunday, October 18th, at Newton-Wellesley hospital, after a ten month bout with cancer. After graduating from Waltham High School John honorably served his Country in The United States Navy as a veteran of the Vietnam War, and his community as a Firefighter at the Moody street station in Waltham for many years. He loved fishing and camping and enjoyed the family's annual camping trips when his children were younger.
John was predeceased by his son James A. Long and is survived by his daughter, Christine E. Long, of Waltham.
Due to the current spike in Covid-19 and for the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time, relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of John’s life in accordance with CDC, Federal and State guidelines in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located at 773 Moody St. in Waltham, on Friday, October 30th from 4pm-6pm.
