Paul J. Manfredi
January 31, 1958 – September 28, 2020
Paul J. Manfredi, formerly of Waltham, passed away suddenly, at the age of 62, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. He was the son of the late George Manfredi and Rosemarie (Insalaco) Manfredi. Paul was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1976, and was a resident of Waltham for over 30 years.
Paul is survived by his beloved son Paul J. (PJ) Manfredi, Jr. and his former wife, Elaine M. Manfredi of Waltham. His siblings Charles Manfredi of NH, Carol MacDonald and her husband Alexander (Buddy) Mac Donald of Watertown, Thomas Manfredi and Stephen Manfredi of NH. He also leaves his nephews and nieces, Keith MacDonald, Heather Manfredi, Anthony Manfredi and Taylor Manfredi, all of NH and many other relatives and friends.
Paul was an avid NASCAR fan and traveled throughout the country in the family motorhome, with friends and family, attending many NASCAR races. One of the many highlights of his life was celebrating his 50th birthday at the 50th running of The Daytona 500. If he wasn’t at a race, he was watching it on TV. His love for cars, motorcycles, boats and snowmobiles was certainly passed on to his son, PJ, and his nephew, Keith. Paul loved their many snowmobile trips, the boating vacations, the car races and the rides on his Harley. There were many adventures over the years.
He was also a talented cook and enjoyed hosting the family holidays and many parties. His specialties were deep frying turkeys for any event or outing and cooking outside on his smoker. It gave him great pleasure to feed everyone.
Before his early retirement, Paul worked in the Auto Repair industry for over 30 years. He was a gifted Auto Repair Technician. He could take a totaled car and transform it back to new or better than new as he used to say. It was amazing to watch and witness. He was one of a kind. Upon retiring, Paul spent his summers on the lake at Grandview Campground in NH and his winters in Arcadia, Florida with many other snowbirds.
Even in death, he gave the gift of life as an organ donor. It’s comforting to know that his spirit lives on. He lived life to the fullest, his own way, with no regrets. Gone way too soon, but will never ever be forgotten. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to pay their respects and join in a celebration of Paul’s life at The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St in Waltham on Thursday October 22nd from 4-6 PM.
