Obituary for Thelma Marie Kratoville (LeBlanc)

Thelma Marie Kratoville

It is with deep sadness that the family of Thelma Marie (LeBlanc) Kratoville announces her peaceful passing on Monday evening, September 7, 2020 at Benchmark Senior Living at Waltham Crossings. She was 65.

Thelma was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada and raised in Waltham by the late Jean and Luce LeBlanc. She was a lifelong resident of Waltham and a 1972 graduate of Waltham High School. Growing up, Thelma enjoyed spending her summers in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia and never stopped loving arts and crafts even though life got busy being a mother, wife, and working in the retail industry. Later in life Thelma enjoyed cop sitcom marathons and circle the word puzzles. She was also a longtime member of the American Legion Nonatum Post 440 where she served for a time as Sargent at Arms.

She was a gentle but strong soul who adored listening to everyone, easily made friendships, and loved her family above everything. Wherever the flow of life took her, she went along for the ride putting others’ desires above her own.

The wife of the late John Kratoville, she is survived by her loving daughter Lisa Taipan and her husband Mark of Dover, NH and her devoted sister, Nora Lawton and her husband Frank of Framingham, MA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a grandnephew.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a wake and memorial in celebration of Thelma’s life at Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St. Waltham, Saturday, September 12. Visiting hours will be held from 10:30 -11am (Privately for Family Only) and from 11am – 12 pm (Open to the Public) , followed by a memorial service at 12PM and interment at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Out of genuine concern for those we love and care deeply about during this difficult time throughout the world and our community we ask that you please do so in accordance with CDC, Federal and State guidelines. For those who can not be present you may view the service live streamed by going to HarborviewVideo.com/brasco

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
