Obituary

Donna M. (Ricci) DeVito

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 18th, 2021 in the comfort and care of Care Dimensions Hospice Home in Lincoln after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 72.

Born on April 28, 1948 in Boston; beloved daughter of Eleanor (Capobianco) Ricci and the late Francis S. Ricci. Donna was born and raised in Waltham and had moved to Lexington for 15 years before moving back to Waltham where she spent most of her life.

Donna was a graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1966; growing up she worked on the family farm off of Trapelo Road in Waltham. As a young woman Donna worked for Graphic Micro Film in Waltham, Raytheon Corporation, Giant Superstore and Smith Klein & French. Donna later had been employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Charlesbank Garden Apartments in Waltham for the Antico Family until her retirement.

She loved nature and flowers, Iris's being her favorite; she had a passion all types of arts & crafts; but her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren. Donna always looked forward to her Thursday morning breakfast of coffee and bagels with her daughter and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael DeVito.

Donna is survived by her devoted & loving daughter Stacy Lombardi and her husband Daniel of Waltham; her step-son Carl DeVito of Escondido, CA; her cherished grandchildren Daniel Lombardi Jr., Dylan Lombardi, Jessica Lombardi and Casey DeVito; her beloved mother Eleanor (Capobianco) Ricci of Waltham; and her dear siblings Stephen F. Ricci and his wife Nancy of Waltham; Therese A. Ricci of Waltham; William G. Ricci and his wife Deborah of NH; and Thomas J. Ricci and his wife Lisette of Hudson. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss her dearly.

Family & friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Donna's life and remember the love she shared with those she touched at a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Saturday morning March 27th at 11:00 a.m.

My condolences to this lovely family. I did not know Donna very well, but the few times I did meet her; She’s was a very kind, and selfless person. She will be missed by many and I only wish I had a chance to know her more. Forever a part of our hearts.

What to say about Donna? She was my first niebuhr when i moved in my house. Over the years we lost touch, but reconnected few years ago thanks to Theresa. Coffee on the lawn next door on Sunday morning, or with Theresa in the kitchen. Our trip on a Saturday to a farm stand together with her mon and lunch out. Great hart, spunky sometime, soft spoken but if she had something to say...............she said it. We will miss you Donna.
To the all family my heartfelt sorry and prayers.

To The Ricci Family, I am so sorry for the loss of Donna. She was just so sweet and I loved her. I would like to leave you all with a simple reminder for I love you all May you always have an Angel by your side. Watching out for you in all the things you do. Reminding you to keep believing in brighter days. Finding ways for your wishes and dreams to come true. Giving you hope that is as certain as the sun. Giving you the strength of serenity as your guide. May you always have love and comfort and courage. May you always have an Angel by your side. Someone there to catch you if you fall, Encouraging your dreams, Inspiring your happiness, Holding your hand and helping you through it all. In all of our days, our lives are always changing. Tears come along as well as smiles. Along the roads you travel, May the miles be a thousand times more lovely than lonely. May they give you gifts that never, ever end. Someone wonderful to love and a dear friend in whom you can confide. May you have rainbows after every storm. May you have hopes to keep you safe and warm. And may you always have an Angel by your side. Friends Are Like Angels. Love Johanna
