Obituary for Joseph M. "Joey" Hynds

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday June 17th, 2020 in his home at the age of 54.

Born on March 14, 1966 in Newton; son of the late Robert M. Hynds and Dorothy A. (Centola) Hynds. He was born, raised and educated in the Allston section of Boston and had lived for a period in Watertown before moving to Waltham in 2013.

He attended Saint Columbkille's High School and had been employed as a Laborer in the construction industry throughout his life.

He was a passionate Boston sports fan and a diehard Boston Bruins fan. He loved watching and following hockey.

He is survived by his devoted and loving siblings Marybeth Irvine and her husband William of Plymouth; Robert J. Hynds of Florida; Deborah DePietro and her husband David of Waltham; Mildred K. Hynds and her longtime companion John of Waltham; and his late dear sister Kerry M. Hynds-Haggerty; his cherished nephews Robert Hynds Haggerty, Timothy James Haggerty Jr., William Thomas Irvine; his dear niece Katherine Mary Irvine and his adoring great niece Ava Rose.

For the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time, and for those who wish to pay their respects to Joey can do so in accordance with CDC, Federal and State guidelines in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Tuesday June 23rd from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Joseph’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Wednesday morning June 24th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Watertown.
