Obituary for Angelina Joan White (Gorgone)

Angelina J. ( Gorgone) White

Of Maynard, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning June 17th, 2020 surrounded by her loving family in her home at the age of 99.

Born on January 22, 1921 in Newton; daughter of the late Francesco "Frank" Gorgone and Giuseppa "Josephine" Gorgone. Angelina was born, raised and educated in Newton before moving to Waltham and then to Maynard for the past 62 years.

While raising her family, Angelina enjoyed cooking and baking and she was known for her homemade Italian sauce, lasagna and country fried chicken. Angelina loved to bake and her family enjoyed her Italian ricotta cheesecake at most of the Holidays over the years. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening, she grew gorgeous; Peonies, Azaleas, rhododendrons, tulips, lilacs and several other varieties. Angelina was well read and made a point to keep up with current events in the world. She was crafty and sewing was another past time she enjoyed.

Her family and her friends were always first and foremost; she cherished the time spent surrounded by those she loved so much, especially her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Clyde "Jack" White in 1985.

Angelina is survived by her devoted and loving children Kenneth P. White of Virginia; Cheryll A. White of Waltham; Elaine Owens (Jan) of Lancaster, Susan J. Doucette of Maynard and the late Jeffrey P. White who died in 1982; her cherished grandchildren Greg, Christine, Gretchen, Lauren and Jared; her adoring great grandson Cameron; and her dear brothers Vincent P. "Jimmy" Gorgone of North Carolina, Frank R. Gorgone of North Falmouth, MA, Joseph R. "Dickie" Gorgone of Florida; and was preceded in death by her siblings Grace Gorgone, Camilla Medaglia, Rose Guzzi, Frances Jones, Josephine Carroll, Jane Perruzzi and Salvatore Gorgone; in addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Out of genuine concern for those we love and care deeply about during this difficult time throughout the world and in our community; private graveside services will be held to celebrate Angelina's life and remember the love she shared with those she touched in a outdoor Graveside Funeral Service at Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street in Waltham on Monday morning June 22nd.

The Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home of WALTHAM assisted Angelina's family with arrangements.
