Obituary for Roy W. Tomlin

Roy W. Tomlin

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2020 at Marist Hill Nursing Home in Waltham at the age of 79.

Roy was born on May 15, 1941 in Lincoln, MA, the son of the late Whitford and Helen (Garrigan) Tomlin.

He was employed as a manager for many years at George W. Moore Inc. in Waltham.

He leaves his daughters, Sharon Tomlin of Waltham and Stacey Walazek and her husband, Robert of Waltham, his two grandchildren Kayla and Ryan Walazek of Waltham, his dear friend Phyllis Tomlin of Waltham, his siblings Marlene Peterson of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, Judith West and her husband, Ronald of Billerica, Ronald Tomlin of Billerica, Richard Tomlin and his wife, Elizabeth of Hudson, MA and his sister-in-law Marcia Tomlin of South Dakota. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Roy was also predeceased by his brother Robert Tomlin of South Dakota and his sister Helen McGuire of Waltham.

He enjoyed listening to his large collection of oldies music. He will always be remembered when we hear songs from his all-time favorite the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Roy was also an avid Boston sports fan and we are thankful he was able to witness so many championships through the years. He also had a special love for animals.

Out of genuine concern for those we love and care deeply about during this difficult time throughout the world and in our community; the family will gather privately to celebrate Roy’s life and remember the love he shared with those he touched during a Graveside Funeral Service at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.

Memorial donations may be made in Roy’s memory to either the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 or the MSPCA of Greater Boston 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
