Gerard "Gerry" J. Richard

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning January 11th, 2021 at the Milford Regional Medical Center at the age of 67.

Born on May 28, 1953 in St. Charles, New Brunswick, Canada; son of the late Emile Joseph Richard and Virginia M. (Barrieau) Richard. Gerry came to Waltham as a young boy at the age of 9 and had resided in Waltham for the majority of his life.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1973; Gerry worked at the Waltham Supermarket for years until its closure and Stop & Shop for years after until he retired.

Gerry was known for riding his bicycle everywhere he went; it didn't matter how close or far you lived, Gerry rode his bike to visit. You always knew when Gerry entered a room, his loud boisterous laugh carried through any room. He loved playing billiards and following all the Boston sports teams.

He is survived by his devoted & loving siblings; Jacques Richard and his wife Henriette of New Jersey, Fenand Richard and his wife Annette of Acadiville, Francois Richard and his wife Lise of Acadiville, Laurie Richard and spouse Nancy of Fitchburg, Maryann LeBlanc of Waltham, Florine Jacob and her husband Francis of Maine, Yolande Vitale and her husband Frank of Cape Cod, Claude Richard and partner Joe of NH, Robert Richard and his wife Sharon from Waltham, Regis Richard and his wife Patricia of Cape Cod, Roger Richard and his wife Joanne of Fitchburg, and Eric Richard and his wife Debbie of Marlboro. In addition he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Out of genuine concern for those we love and care deeply about during this difficult time throughout the world and in our community, family will gather to celebrate Gerry's life and remember the love he shared with those he touched in a private Graveside Funeral Service at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
