Bernardo Perri

Of West Newton, passed away peacefully early Friday morning October 21st, 2022 in Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 93.

Born on April 13, 1929 in Nicastro, Italy; son of the late Francesco Perri and Giovanna (Caruso) Perri. Bernardo immigrated to the United States in 1966 and resided in Newton for 56 years.

Bernardo was employed with Garden City Landscaping for over 25 years. He was a master at gardening and loved taking care of his garden at his home. He enjoyed making homemade wine and bread but most of all he loved playing the accordion. Family truly was the central focus of his life and he treasured the time spent with everyone.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years Teresa (Mastroianni) Perri in 2016.

Bernardo is survived by his devoted & loving children Francesca Bilotta and her husband Giuseppe of Newton, Antonette Perri and her husband Francesco of Newton, Vincenzo Perri and his wife Colleen of Newton, Francesco Perri and his wife Cathy of Newton and Maria Vitone and her husband Domenic of Newton; his cherished grandchildren Nicky, John, Vinnie, Grace, Brianna, Mikayla, Kristina, Jay, Molly, Michaela, Mia, Christopher, Stephanie, and Anthony; his adored great grandchildren DeAnna, Giuilia, Mila, Vincenzo, Antonio John, Cora and Reese; and his dear sister Anna Stranges and her husband the late Gennaro of Canada; and his brother of the late Vincenzo Perri and his wife Maria In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Bernardo’s Life from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St, WALTHAM on Tuesday morning October 25th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Bernard’s Church, 1523 Washington St, West Newton at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Monday October 24th from 4 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
