Eugenia "Jean" M. Frassica
Of Belmont died Tuesday February 18th at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge after a long illness.
she was 89.
The daughter of the late Joseph & Angela Frassica Jean was born and raised and educated in Belmont where she remained a life long resident. Ms Frassica graduated from Fisher College.
Jean retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Senior Payroll Coordinator in the office of the Chief Administrative Justice of the Trial Courts. She had also worked for over 20 years with the Ways and Means Committee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Legislature. She had served as secretary to the Communications Secretary for Governor John Volpe.
A devout communicant of Saint Luke Parish in Belmont, she enjoyed painting in different mediums, attending theatre and cooking.
Ms Frassica was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in America with the Maria Montessori Lodge in Belmont. She held every position within her local Lodge as well as to serve in many key leadership roles and positions with the Grand and Supreme Lodges on a State and National Level. She dedicated much of her time and efforts to the causes which the Sons and Daughters of Italy stand for.
She is survived by her cherished lifelong friend, Sara Pomponi of Watertown and her family. She is also survived by her many other dear friends, colleagues and members of the Sons and Daughters of Italy.
Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Road, Belmont with a Mas of Christian Burial in celebration of Jean's life at Saint Luke Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friend are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow in the family lot at Belmont Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday morning prior to Mass from 10:- 11:00 a.m. For those who wish expressions of sym[athy maye be made in Jean's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis at www.nationalmssociety.org. Parking attendants will be on duty.
