Obituary for Barbara E. Grindrod
Barbara E. Grindrod, 83, of Waltham passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, June 03, 2022, at The Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born to the late Charles and Eva Grindrod (Deveaux) on Friday, November 18, 1938, in Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia, Canada.
Barbara was kind, generous, and took care of others for most of her adult life. As a Nursing Aide for Middlesex County Hospital, she wore the daily challenges and hurdles of her vocation with a smile and a badge of courage. Knowing in some small way she helped someone make it to the end of a painful night and the dawn of a new day.
As a woman of conviction and a dedicated parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Waltham Barbara relied on her faith and her steadfast love of God to help make the curvy pathways of life straight. She enjoyed her time as a former President of Local #3168 and took great pride in all she accomplished.
Barbara is predeceased by her beloved brothers, Robert R. Grindrod and Charles C. Grindrod.
She is survived by her niece Christine LeMaitre of New Hampshire, and a nephew Robert S. Grindrod of Maryland. Three of her closest friends who loved her dearly; Patricia O’Dette of Waltham, Jane Radzvin, and Patsy Hovsepian. In addition to many others.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Graveside Services for Barbara on Thursday, June 23rd at 12 pm in Calvary Cemetery Waltham. Located 250 High Street Waltham 02453.
