Obituary for Anthony Zagame

Of Waltham & West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully Monday, August 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at Care Dimensions in Lincoln at the age of 86.

Born on Thursday, November 21, 1935, in Filicudi, Italy, to the late Antonio & Rosa (Taranto) Zagame from Filicudi, Italy. He was a dear brother of the late Graziela (Zagame) Moro. He came to the United States in 1960 when he was 25, where he was a lifelong resident of Waltham. West Palm Beach became his second home in 1996.

Anthony focused his life on family and friends. He was a loving husband of 61 years to his late wife Josephine, whom he met in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The pair moved to Waltham where they would go on to have four children and nine grandchildren. Anthony owned his own landscaping company and worked 26 years at Raytheon to support his family before retiring in 1998. He loved playing the accordion and keyboard, and shared his passion with everyone, including playing at all the parties at Buttonwood Club in Florida. He was a natural host and was constantly surrounded by his family and friends. Whether it was for morning cappuccinos, Saturday night BBQs on Brown Street, or playing card games for quarters, Anthony loved having company and made every day feel like a special occasion.

He is survived by his loving children Al (Joan) of Wayland, Rich (Rina) of Newton, Steve of Waltham, Rosanna (Eric) Keefe of Framingham & his cherished grandchildren Emmett (Leanna), Anthony, Kristina, Gianna, Matt, Adrianna, Daniella, Doug, and Jason. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Carlos, cousins, nephew, and several beloved friends.
