Obituary for June A. Davenport (Cassidy)

June A. Davenport, CPA, MST CFP,

A resident of Concord, New Hampshire, died Saturday October 5th at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston after a brief battle with a particularly aggressive form of cancer.

Born in Newton, Massachusetts, June lived in Framingham, Massachusetts for over 20 years. She also lived in Providence, RI, and recently re-located to New Hampshire.

June received her B.A. (magna cum laude) degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA, and her Master of Science degree in Taxation from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.

As a CPA, June was devoted to helping her clients start up, guide, and motivate their modern family businesses and manage short- and long-term financial goals that strengthen their family wealth. After having worked for local and national firms in the Boston area since 1985, she started her own firm in 2001, and had a passion for working with today’s cloud-based accounting systems and business technology solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses.

In her free time, June liked to travel with her sister, sometimes combining her travels with her interest in tracing her family genealogy. She also enjoyed walking/running wherever her cocker spaniel, Kelsey, wanted to take her, and settling down with him to listen to blues music.

She was the daughter of the late Walter J. & June E. (Harney) Cassidy.

June is survived by her sons Andrew T. Davenport of Concord & James M. Davenport of Framingham, and her sister Mrs. Judith Cassidy Halpern of Washington, D.C.

Services will be held Friday morning October 11th in the Calvary Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 255 High Street, Waltham at 11:00 a.m. The Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham will be assisting the Davenport Family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, 230 W. Monroe, Suite 710, Chicago, Illinois 60606
