Of Norwood, passed away peacefully early Thursday afternoon October 3rd, 2019 at the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home in Needham after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55.
Born on April 23, 1964 in Newport News, Virginia; Greg was raised in Bedford, Massachusetts and resided in Waltham for many years before moving to Norwood 16 years ago.
Greg graduated from Bedford High School with the Class of 1982; and later furthered his education graduating from MassBay Community College with an Associates degree. He was an incredibly talented Painter, who used his skills to own and operate Agonis Painting for over 18 years.
He loved to be surrounded by family & friends; he had a love for the outdoors especially hiking but had a passion for music and playing the drums. He was an amazing musician and played the drums in several bands with his friends over the years including "Mojo and the Mad Dogs". He also coached his son Norwood Youth Baseball teams for many years.
Greg loved and lived life to the fullest; he will be greatly missed by those that were fortunate to have known and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted companion and beloved wife of 20 years Lorie K. DiNapoli; his loving sons Zachary Agonis and Austin Ruth both of Norwood; his mother Linda Fox of Norwood and step-father Tony Agonis of Florida; his dear brothers Michael Agonis of New Ipswich, NH and Patrick Agonis of Townsend; several nieces, nephews, and numerous close friends who will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his brother Chris Agonis.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Greg's life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday evening Oct. 10th at 7:30 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Funeral Service from 4 - 7:30 p.m.
