Of Madbury, NH formerly of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully Wednesday morning October 2nd, 2019 at Carriage Hill Assisted Living in Madbury, NH in Waltham at the age of 90.
Born on January 30, 1929 in Waltham; daughter of the late Salvatore and Cologera "Clara" (Terrasi) Ballo, Josephine resided in Waltham her entire life and for a brief period of time in Madbury, New Hampshire. For many years she had a home in Barnstead, New Hampshire.
Josephine was a graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1947. She furthered her education attending night school at Bentley School of Accounting. Josephine was employed as an Accountant with the Daymarc Corporation; Silent Springs; and ITEK Manufacturing.
She loved to attend the Waltham Senior Center and participate in numerous activities and events. Her greatest passion was painting although she enjoyed all types of arts & crafts including cake decorating.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Biagio J. Papia in 1981.
Josephine is survived by her devoted & loving children; Paula Vardaro and her husband Francis Vardaro formerly of Medford, MA, Barnstead, NH and now of Kissimmee, FL; and Gina Papia Lewis and her husband Andy Lewis formerly of Sharon, MA now of Lee, NH; her cherished grandchildren Kristina Anderson and her husband Javon; Gregory Vardaro; Michael Vardaro and his wife Shelly; Alexandra Lewis and Julia Lewis; her adoring great grandchildren Jaxon and Khloe Anderson; and step great grandchildren Lexi Tallent, Dillon Miller and Madison Miller. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her siblings Phyllis Facchini; Sally Morreale; Stephen and Philip Ballo .
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Josephine's life from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning Oct. 5th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial on Friday Oct. 4th from 3 - 7 p.m.
