Obituary for Billie Frances Busby (Carper)

Of Auburndale, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning September 21st, 2019 at the age of 86.

Born June 4, 1933, Billie was the daughter of the late Hon. George J. and Frances (O'Brien) Carper of Burlington, Colorado. Billie was raised in Denver, Colorado and lived most of her adult life in Loveland, Colorado and Burlington, Colorado before moving to Natick, Massachusetts to be near her grandchildren.

Billie attended East Denver High School and graduated from University High School in Greeley, Colorado and furthered her education at the University of Northern Colorado graduating with her Bachelor's Degree in English & Education. She spent her career in the Loveland, Colorado schools, teaching 7th grade English at Bill Reed Jr. High for more than 20 years. After retirement, Billie volunteered to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to children in the Czech Republic and to adult immigrants in Natick, Massachusetts.

She was a past member of Colorado P.E.O. and The American Association of University Women (AAUW). Billie had a love for playing the piano and in her younger years sang for numerous weddings & funerals. She enjoyed the outdoors including hiking and skiing and loved dogs and cats.

Her family was everything, and she loved every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren.

Billie is survived by her devoted & loving daughter Ann M. Hill of Auburndale; her cherished grandchildren Zach and Gemma; her dear niece Donna Schwartz and grand-nephews, Drew, Ian, and Robert; and her nephew David Roberts and his family.

She was predeceased by her beloved son Jamie Busby and her dear sister Virginia Roberts.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Gathering in celebration of Billie's life in the Brasco Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning Sept. 28th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m, followed by a luncheon at the Hill home.
